All Students: Student Progress

This report provides information on the progress students are making through the PK-12 system. Progress is examined based on several factors, including grade-level retention, standardized assessment scores, school attendance, graduation, and dual enrollment in postsecondary education. This report provides statistics at the state level and can be viewed across and by different years and student demographics.

Indicator Definitions

Grade Level Retention:: Percentage of public school students (1-12) who were not promoted to the next grade.
Assessment Scores:: Percentage of public school students in the selected grade level scoring within established performance levels on state-administered assessment tests.
Students Maintaining Proficiency:: Percentage of public school students in the selected grade level maintaining proficiency or above in the previous and current year on the state-administered Mathematics and Language Arts assessment.
Student Attendance Rate:: Average daily attendance rate of enrolled public school students by grade group (K-5, 6-8, 9-12).
Chronic Absenteeism:: Percentage of enrolled public school students by grade who were chronically absent (missed 18 or more days) with nonexcused and other absences.
Graduation/Completion Rate:: Percentage of public high school students who graduated from high school within four years.
Dual Enrollment in Postsecondary Education:: Number of public high school students enrolled in both high school and college-level courses during the same school year.
All Indicators:: A listing of the main percentages found in this report.
